The box promises "Lited Piston Action" and that is exactly what happens when the toy is switched on. The engine lights up and the pistons operate a rotating crankshaft. Plastic is used for the seats in this toy which probably indicates that it was made in the mid 1960's.

This is a lovely and desirable old toy with particular appeal to Volkswagen collectors.
