Buick Roadmaster 1947 - Length 14 mm - Plated Die Cast with Clockwork Motor by PRAMETA. Made in W.Germany, British Zone.This along with the plastic Hubley Taxi, is one that I would grab if the house were to go on fire. I think that it is fantastic and the photograph does not do it justice. Although sold as a toy, it falls into the category of scale model and the level of detailing is fantastic given the period. Mind you, the car first saw light of day in the same year as the writer, so it had to be good! A key shaped like a traffic policeman fits into the hole on the front fender to wind the clockwork motor which has 3 forward speeds and reverse - just terrific, and one of my absolute favourite toys out of the approximately 5,000 toys and models in my Collection. |
