Hillman Imp Saloon - Length 15mm - Plastic with Friction Motor - Hong Kong MAK'S

My family had several of these wonderful little Scottish built cars during the 1960's and 1970's - Imps, Singer Chamois and Sunbeam Stiletto Coupe. They were fun and much more practical than the Mini which outsold and outlasted the Imp. The story of the Imp and Rootes at Linwood has been well told but the Imp meant a lot to me and I was a great fan of this delightful rear engined car .

This cheap plastic toy is a terrific model and comes with a lifting rear window just like the real car and a couple of suitcases which add play value. The box artwork is superb and claims that the toy contained within is an "accurate scale model" - on this occasion the copy writer was absolutely correct!
