Eldorado Biarritz Convertible 1956

1/32 Scale Assembled Plastic Kit by Revell, USA

Kit came with driver in tuxedo and female passenger figure - the youngsters in the back are Lionel Railroad Accessories.

Revell issued a wonderful series of kits of American Cars in 1/32 Scale in 1955 which included this Cadillac (updated for 1956), as well as Chrysler New Yorker, Mercury Montclair, Continental MK 2 , Buick 4 Door Hardtop and a Ford Sunliner Convertible.

These early multi -piece kits came with figures and the boxes are beautifully illustrated. Some collectors of kits prefer to keep the kits unbuilt and display the boxes, but my own thoughts on this subject are that kits were intended for building - the ideal situation of course would be to have the best of both worlds - built and unbuilt! This has been made easier to achieve since Revell recently re-issued the Cadillac, Ford and Lincoln kits.
